Our primary surgeon is Dr. Jeff Todd. With over 30 years of experience, he performs
procedures ranging from routine to advanced. Just like in human medicine, the experience and expertise of the surgeon does make a difference. Because we want to ensure that our patients receive the best possible outcome, we occasionally refer them to specialists (board-certified veterinary surgeons) to perform complex operations when advanced equipment or specialized training will be beneficial.
At Noah’s Ark, we take every measure to ensure your pet has a great outcome. As an AAHA accredited hospital, we’ve put a series of procedures in place to ensure the highest levels of safety and quality care. We perform a physical exam and pre-anesthetic testing* before surgery and administer pain medication and a sedative. The process is just like you would experience if you were having an anesthetic procedure. During the procedure, a veterinary technician will continually assess your pet’s heart and respiratory rate, blood pressure, and other vital signs to help control any anesthetic risk. We also provide appropriate pain medication to keep your pet comfortable before, during and after surgery. Surgical outcomes also depend upon the skill of the surgeon. Dr. Todd is an outstanding surgeon with over 30 years of experience performing surgeries on all kinds of animals. These days he limits his patients to dogs and cats.
