Wellness Visits

One of the easiest and least expensive ways to keep your pet healthy and happy is to bring them to our veterinarians in Franklin, NC for annual physical examinations.

One of the easiest and least expensive ways to keep your pet healthy and happy is to bring them to Noah’s Ark for annual physical examinations. Dogs and cats age much faster than people, so significant changes in your pet’s health can happen in a short time. Thorough annual examinations allow us to diagnose diseases and conditions early, when they’re easier to treat or manage. Often, we can help prevent diseases entirely, just by ensuring that your pet receives appropriate vaccinations and preventives. At Noah’s Ark, we believe there are three Cornerstones of Good Health:

I. NUTRITION – The foundation of vibrant good health for pets (and people) is nutrition. Most clients who visit Noah’s Ark have been admonished to feed exclusively commercial pet foods to their pets. Yet, for thousands of years, dogs, cats, and man have lived together, and shared food. Commercial pet foods have only been widely fed for about 60 years. During that time, we’ve seen the lifespan of dogs and cats decrease, with cancer being the number one killer of dogs over 10 years old. In the last 30 years, humans have begun consuming a highly processed diet, and our health is suffering as well. Obesity is rampant in our companion animals, and with it comes the disease and disability we see in humans—diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, orthopedic problems.

OUR APPROACH IS DIFFERENT! We’ll encourage you to build a strong foundation for health by feeding your pet the most natural, highest quality diet that is practical for you. We try hard to make this easy for you, so we offer the widest selection of natural diets, treats, and supplements available west of Asheville. We’re also available to support those of you who want to cook for your pampered pets.

II. MINIMIZE EXPOSURE TO PESTICIDES – At Noah’s Ark, we’ve sorted through the hundreds of choices available to you today to carry the products we feel best about recommending for you pets. Our goal is to keep you, your family, and pets free of parasites, while minimizing overexposure to pesticides.

III. APPROPRIATE VACCINATION – Using the most current research in field of veterinary immunology, our doctors will review and recommend a vaccine schedule for your pet based on their individual needs and lifestyle. Our goal is to prevent disease, while minimizing the risks associated with over-vaccination of pets. OUR APPROACH IS PROGRESSIVE. What you won’t get at Noah’s Ark is the same vaccines over and over again each year. We adhere to the recommendations of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP), and the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA). When choosing a veterinarian, it’s important to know whether they follow the latest recommendations.
